COVID-19 Housing Relief Now Available

On June 2, 2020, NC REALTORS® and the NC REALTORS® Housing Foundation announced a contribution of $200,000 to the North Carolina Housing Coalition in support of their work to assist those in need of mortgage and rental relief assistance as a result of COVID-19.

The Coalition, through its network of 20 housing counseling agencies, will use these funds to provide 200 affected families with a one-time payment of up to $1,000 for their rent or mortgage.

Type of Assistance
Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards monthly mortgage or rental expenses for the primary residence. Relief assistance is limited to a maximum of $1,000 per applicant per household. The deadline for application submission is December 31, 2020. Please note this assistance is for housing relief only; other expenses including vehicle purchase, repair and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.

Eligibility
The recipient must be a full-time resident of the home.

Confidentiality
All information provided will remain confidential and will be available only to those who need to confirm eligibility for assistance and to those who process the assistance.

Disbursement of Funds
In order to provide for a reasonable and equitable distribution of funds, assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. All grants are contingent upon the availability of funds. Grants will be payable directly to the mortgage lender or landlord.
