2025 Q1 Impact Report: NC REALTORS® Housing Foundation

The NC REALTORS® Housing Foundation (NCRHF) kicked off 2025 with a powerful start, demonstrating the lasting impact REALTORS® can have when they come together to serve their communities. From disaster recovery and fair housing outreach to education, grants, and local partnerships—here’s a look back at our first quarter highlights and what’s coming next.

January: Honoring Generosity

On January 29, NCRHF recognized 34 local and state associations, as well as several community donors, during a check presentation ceremony. Led by NCRHF Director Tim McBrayer, the event included the presentation of a $30,000 donation from the REALTOR® Giving Network Foundation. Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® Association Executive Danielle Clairmont presented the check, which was designated to support Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in Western North Carolina.

February: Spotlight on Workforce Housing

On February 18, NCRHF Director Kentia Smith sat down for an interview with Insight magazine to discuss the Foundation’s growing impact. The May 2025 issue will highlight our “100 Homes in 100 Counties” initiative, including our $25,000 contribution to Pierson Point—a workforce housing project spearheaded by the Wilmington REALTORS® Foundation. Located off Carolina Beach Road in New Hanover County, Pierson Point will provide 48 townhomes for first responders, educators, and other essential workers in need of affordable homeownership options.

March: Celebrating Women Who Lead

In celebration of Women’s History Month, NCRHF recognized its female directors making a difference in housing and community engagement across North Carolina. Their leadership continues to shape a stronger, more inclusive future for real estate in our state.

April: Fair Housing, Relief Grants & Community Engagement

  • April 3: NCRHF joined the Gastonia Board of REALTORS® and the City of Gastonia for a Fair Housing event featuring speakers from the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, NAHREP, AREAA, and Legal Aid of NC. The event promoted honest conversations about housing equity and addressing systemic bias in real estate.
  • April 4: We officially closed the Hurricane Helene housing grant application. Thanks to $1 million from the NAR REALTOR® Relief Foundation and $250,000 in local and state contributions, NCRHF awarded $1.26 million in relief to 1,260 households across 20 counties.
  • April 8 & 10: NCRHF provided a $3,500 matching grant to the Albemarle Area Association of REALTORS® (AAAR), doubling their own contribution to help seven families in crisis. Just two days later, NCRHF board members proudly participated in the Greensboro Regional REALTORS® Foundation Golf Tournament, which raised funds to support programs benefiting local elementary school students and families.
