Swing for a Cause: NC REALTORS Housing Foundation’s Golf and Give Tournament 2023
On September 18, the NC REALTORS Housing Foundation (NCRHF) held its Golf and Give Tournament in Southern Pines, NC. The event was aimed at raising funds for the 100 Homes in 100 Counties initiative, which aims to provide affordable homes for low-income families throughout North Carolina. The reception was attended by several sponsors, including Uncle Nearest, Carolina Blue Cigars, Shutterbug Graphics and Signs, Creating Inspirational Designs, DJ Mina, and Star 102.25 radio station.
There were important speakers in attendance, including Donathon Stover, President Elect for Mid-Carolina REALTORS; Matt Kootsey, Alexander Habitat Director; Kentia Smith, NCRHF Director; President Mark Lindsey; and Carolina Blue Cigar owner. The speakers shared their experiences and thoughts on the NCRHF’s work and the importance of affordable housing.
The Golf Tournament had 65 players divided into 16 teams, and there were several sponsors from different associations. The Triangle MLS team won the first prize, while The Administration-Keller Williams and U.S. Bank won second and third places, respectively. The winners of the closest to the pin and longest drive competitions were Jodie Washburn and Jeremy Gaglie for the female and male categories, respectively.
Awards were given to Director Tim Mcbrayer, Phillip Rector, and Director Shaleen Young for their contributions to the foundation. Additionally, Catawba Valley Association of REALTORS, Winston-Salem Association of REALTORS, Canopy REALTORS, and Mid Carolina REALTORS received awards for being the 2023 NC REALTORS Local Associations of the Year for their outstanding support for the foundation. The event was a great success, and NCRHF plans to continue its efforts towards affordable housing in North Carolina.
